1. argue vi.&vt. 意為“爭論；辯論”。作不及物動詞時，常用于argue about sth.with sb.,同某人爭論某事。

It is no use arguing about the result of the experiment with her.

2. hunt for 意為“搜索；追尋；尋找”，后接名詞、代詞或V-ing形式作賓語。

The scientists are trying to hunt for a new way to control bird flu.

科學(xué)家們正在設(shè)法尋找一種新的辦法來控制禽流感。

3. care about 意為“擔(dān)心；關(guān)心”。后接名詞、代詞或V-ing形式作賓語。

In our class we care about/ for each other.

4. be into 通常用于口語，意為“對……深感興趣；深深迷上……”，這里into是介詞，其后接名詞、代詞或V-ing形式作賓語。

Don’t be into computer games， it’s bad for you.

5. as much/many as ...意為“和……一樣多”。

The young man has spent as much as he earned this month.

6. make/be friends with sb. 意為“和某人交上/成為朋友”。

I hope you are pleased to be friends with me. 我希望你樂意做我的朋友。

7. treat...as...意為“把……視為（看作）……”與regard / think of / consider...as...意思相同。

Don’t treat me as a child. I’m sixteen, after all.

別拿我當(dāng)小孩。畢竟我已經(jīng)16歲了。

8. admit vt. 意為“承認；允許進入”。

The headmaster admitted that he hadn’t done his duty.

9. when(suddenly)...意為“正在……這時（突然）……”，其后接一個狀語從句。

We were having our English Evening when suddenly the light went out.

我們正在舉行英語晚會，突然燈滅了。

10. drop sb. a line=write sb.a short letter 意為“給某人寫封短信”。

Please drop me a line or send me an email before you set off so that I can know when to pick you up.
