Lesson 66 ( The second period )
一、Teaching aims and demands.
本課閱讀短文The queue jumper是宣傳社會(huì)公德而引申出來的一個(gè)幽默小課文。通過教學(xué)提高學(xué)生的閱讀能力，復(fù)習(xí)鞏固動(dòng)詞過去時(shí)態(tài)。同時(shí)學(xué)習(xí)、復(fù)習(xí)相關(guān)的生病、看病詞語。

三、Revision.
讓學(xué)生進(jìn)行口、筆頭完成下列對(duì)話，復(fù)習(xí)過去時(shí)態(tài)。
A: When did you get up yesterday?
B: I up at 6:30 in the morning.
A: What did you do after you got up?
B: I my hands and face quickly and my breakfast.
A: Were you busy yesterday?
B: Yes, I . I my homework first, and then I to see my friends. We many animals. And we hills in the park.

A: Where did you have your lunch?
B: We our lunch in the park. We had milk and bread lunch.

A: Did you go to bed early or late?

四、Teaching of new lesson.
1．Listening. Listen to the tape for L66, then read after it aloud.
2．Language points. （用幻燈顯示）
1）This is a doctor’s waiting room in a hospital.
這是一家醫(yī)院的候診室。
doctor’s waiting room,意為“候診室”。同樣的表達(dá)還有the doctor’s room及下文中的the doctor’s door.
2）Do you think it necessary for us to learn to wait?
你認(rèn)為學(xué)會(huì)等待對(duì)我們有必要嗎？
it在這里是指to learn to wait，放在動(dòng)詞think之后，作賓語，necessary作為賓語補(bǔ)足語。類似的句子如：
Do you think it useful to make such a machine?
你認(rèn)為造這樣一臺(tái)機(jī)器有用嗎？
3）At the head of the queue was an old woman.
在隊(duì)伍最前的是一位老婦女。
這是一個(gè)倒裝句，正常的語序應(yīng)為An old woman was at the head of the queue .
at the head of意為“在……的前（面）”；
at the end of意為“在……的后（面）”，它們是一對(duì)反義詞組。
4）She was in the city to visit her daughter. 她到城里來看女兒。
動(dòng)詞不定式“to visit her daughter”在句中作目的狀語。如：
She went to visit her grandmother twice a month.
她一個(gè)月去看她奶奶兩次。
5）…because her knees hurt badly. ……因?yàn)樗南ドw受了重傷。
because是連詞，引導(dǎo)原因狀語從句。動(dòng)詞hurt的過去式是hurt。badly是副詞，當(dāng)狀語。如：
Did her back hurt badly? 她的背部受了重傷嗎？
6）If I get there early, I can see the doctor quickly.
如果我早點(diǎn)到（醫(yī)院）的話，我就能很快地（請(qǐng)醫(yī)生）看病。
if在句中引導(dǎo)條件狀語從句。從句中謂語動(dòng)詞要用一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)來表示將來時(shí)。如：
If you jump the queue, other people will not be pleased.
要是你不按秩序排隊(duì)，人們會(huì)不高興的。
If you ask him, he will come. 如果你請(qǐng)他，他就會(huì)來。
7）She sat nearest to the doctor’s door. 她坐在靠診室最近的地方。
句中nearest to是短語near to（意為“靠近”、“接近” ）的最高級(jí)；比較級(jí)是nearer to。又如：
John ask me to sit nearer to him. 約翰請(qǐng)我靠他近一些坐著。
Tianjin is the biggest city nearest to Beijing. 天津是最靠近北京的大城市。
8）She stood up and took his arm. 她站起來，抓住他的手臂。
take sb.’s arm,意為“抓住某人的手臂”；
類似的有，take sb.’s hand(s),“握住某人的手（雙手）”。又如：
She took the old woman’s hands and laughed.
她握著那位老奶奶的手笑了。
9）You’re all after me! 你們都在我后面！
after me是介詞短語在句中作表語。如：
We are all in the classroom. 我們?nèi)荚诮淌依铩?/p>
10）Everyone laughed at the woman’s mistake.
每個(gè)人都笑那個(gè)女人弄錯(cuò)了。
laugh at,意為“因……而發(fā)笑”或“嘲笑”的意思。又如：
Don’t laugh at her. 不要嘲笑她。
Why do you laugh at my story? 你為什么嘲笑我的經(jīng)歷？

Once there were two mice(鼠). They were friends. One mouse lived in the country(鄉(xiāng)下). The other mouse lived in the city. After many years the country mouse saw the city mouse. He said, “Do come and see me at my house in the country.” So the city mouse went. The country mouse took him to his house in a field. He gave him the nicest food. The city mouse said, “This food is not good, and your house is not good. Why do you live in a hole in the field? You must come and live in the city. You can live in a nice house made of stones (石頭). You can have nice food to eat. You must come and see me at my house in the city.” The country mouse went to the house of the city mouse. It was a very good house. Nice food was set ready for them to eat. But just as they began to eat they heard a great noise. The city mouse cried, “Run! Run! The cat is coming!” They ran away and hide. (躲藏).
After some time they came out. When they came out, the country mouse said, “I don’t like living in the city. I like living in my hole (洞) in the field. For it is nicer to be poor and happy than to be rich and afraid.”
